What items do you prefer the name brand vs. the generic?

I buy name brand tennis shoes. I buy the generic version of Herbal Essence shampoo.

I always opt for the generic form of prescription drugs.

I buy name brand cereal, but I’m not sure that I should be. I buy high quality coffee over the store brand, too. Canned veggies I choose the store brand.

I buy winter outdoor gear and my Search and Rescue gear based on the label, too. Certain brands hold up better and have better design. However, most camping accessories I buy whatever is cheapest. Not tents or sleeping bags… Those are name brand purchases. I’m talking about the water bottles, cookware, first aid supplies, knives, and the like. The accessories.
