Do you know anyone with Diabetic Nerve damage who not only stopped its advance but whose nerves then repaired themselves and normalized?

I have the nerve damage. Discovered it last year and went to the doc for treatment. She prescribed the Metformin and was hopeful we could stop the advance of the nerve damage but wasn’t so hopeful regarding the repair of the nerves.
So I changed my diet, exercised and took the pills.

Bazinga! The nerve damage ceased its relentless advancing which would have possibly meant goodby feet and some of my legs.
And little by little over the past year I have noticed my nerves have been repairing themselves and have almost reached normalcy.
I’m wondering if anyone has heard of this happen to others.
