Do you believe in negative energy/vibes in objects?

The other day I heard someone saying she didn’t want to wear a specific piece of jewelery that had been given to her by a certain person. She claimed that whenever she wore it she felt sick, anxious and somewhat uncomfortable. Do you believe objects carry a person’s energy and can somehow “pass it over” to others?
