Can you put granite on top of thick, ugly kitchen tiles?

I’d be on Cloud 9 if I could cover up these disgusting, dark brown and charcoal colored tiles I was told are marble tiles? They are not level like granite; they have highs and lows and grout. I guess not but is there a chance I could? I want creamy colored granite, something cheerful and bright. ahhhhh….
