Why is being asked, what do you do for a living.....(rest in details)

Or how much do you make in the job you do?
Or How old are you?
So personal for the majority of people?
While I might be paranoid about giving that information over the internet, never knowing what the wrong person could do with that information, I don’t have a problem in real life telling people those things.
