Will you share what you know about crowdsourcing?

I have been asked to manage a small crowdsourcing (or is it two separate words?) project for a friend’s company. I know nothing about the process or how to use it.

If it matters, the project involves a very small logo.

I’m going to poke around online to see what I can find, but I would love any help that the collective may have.
