Is it possible my Wii is broken?

Well I little while ago my Wii stopped connecting to Wifi. Every source I checked says it was the routers fault, but I did everything I could to the router and I got nothing out of it. But then I read that the Wii and DS need the same conditions to work from a wireless router. If the Wii doesn’t work, the DS shouldn’t work, as I was told. Low and behold, my DS connects to Wifi no problem.

Another reason I think it might be the Wii that is broken is because it wont even connect to a DS unless it is less than 5 feet away. I’m beginning to believe that what ever collects and sends signals to and from my Wii is shot. Or am I missing something?
