Goodbye Fred Thompson, actor and politician. He was a better actor than he ever was a politician.

But he had a recognizable voice and way of talking, and I always liked him in The Hunt for Red October.

And he wasn’t a real bad guy – he was on the Watergate Committee and did a commendable job.

It’s when he got into electoral politics that he got in over his head.
