If you have an Android phone, what, if anything, do you use for Ad blocking and why?

Asked by Buttonstc (27605points) February 19th, 2016 from iPhone

Now I know another reason why I miss having a current iPhone. I never appreciated this aspect of IOS more than I do now.

I can’t believe how intrusive some of these ads can be. I’m talking about entire half page or full page ads which make it impossible to read any article coherently (and sometimes even find the rest of the article on the page.) Yikes.

Sometimes it’s so bad that I can’t even turn the phone to landscape mode to read because there’s only a few lines of space between the ads. It’s really horrible.

If this is what freedom from Apple’s “walled garden” is like, then I’m fine with the garden. Bring me back to that peaceful garden.

Also, I don’t recall things being this bad on an Android tablet. So, is it just because phones are in daily and ever-present usage or is there some other reason why Andtoid tablet ads were not so intrusive?

Anyhow, it looks like my days of simplicity using the stock browser will be coming to an end, even tho the intrusive ads are the only dissatisfaction I have with it.

So, what do you use and what made you decide this was the best option for you? Share your wisdom with me so I can escape from this hellish advertising nightmare. Help!!
