Can you provide some career change suggestions?

My husband has been working in Film Production for about 8 years in Louisiana. The tax incentives have been reduced and will probably be totally cut completely very soon. Job opportunities are few now and he is on his third week of unemployment.

He is a very talented writer and even has some very good screenplays and short films he has made. He has been working for “the man” and has not been able to address his own dreams of being a filmmaker. (Really difficult to do anyways when all the $ people just want to remake hero movies)

So now he is looking for a career change. He feels like a failure and is ready to just succumb to the 9–5 blah job, but I really am hoping that this can be a time of positive change and happier times ahead. He’s thought about insurance, which fits his outgoing personality, but does not utilize his creative talents.

I would appreciate any thoughts/ideas on careers he could enter that may fit for a creative, hard-working person. I have craiglisted, googled, etc- but wanted to tap into the collective consciousness of Fluther since we are in brainstorming phase.
