From a psychological perspective, would you say that incest relationships are unhealthy?

I would never engage in this myself (despite the fact that I’m gay and have no brothers). But there really is very little to say against it thats logical; providing that those involved are consenting and of legal age etc.

But at the same time, this removes the entire mystery of getting to get to know a person in the usual manner as one usually does when dating. Incest relationships would involve individuals who are family members. They already know each other, and sometimes on too deep a level. I think that maybe relationships need to have some sort of mystery to them in order to actually retain some excitement.

So from a physiological and social viewpoint, it might actually be better to seek a partner outside of the family. This is the only decent logical argument I can truly think of against consentual incest.
