Can you think of any songs that were very common / often heard in their day (first six months or weeks of their release) but almost never heard/played now?

Some “oldies” are classics and heard frequently even now (some Elton John songs, for instance, such as This is Your Song). But some hits, like “Blue Monday” by Foreigner, bring back memories because you haven’t heard them in years.

What are some songs which you strongly associate with a time or short era—common and popular for a short time, but then almost never heard again later?

The reason I am asking this question is I want to hear songs I haven’t heard in 25–40 something years that might bring back strong memories. Something we haven’t heard in a long time. Some groups and genres are virtually extinct and never known today by contemporary generations.
