Have you ever volunteered as a tutor/homework helper?

I’m volunteering next month as a reading/writing tutor and I’m really looking forward to it. I’m not planning on becoming a teacher, but I still love helping others learn. So for those that have tutored kids, how was the experience? Was there a certain child that you inspired and genuinely made a positive impact?
