Are Facebook messages preserved after blocking?

I’ve read Facebook’s FAQ, but will you please help me be sure I understand it right?

starting point: John and I are Facebook friends
step 1) I send John a Facebook message
step 2) I block John

Assuming John did not respond to my message before I blocked him, are these things now all true?

– I can’t see anything on John’s timeline, and he can’t see anything on mine;
– John isn’t publicly listed as connected with me in any way on FB; and
– I can still see that message I sent, and so can John
