Was anyone else massively disappointed with Dunkirk?

I usually appreciate Hans Zimmer’s scores, but this is the first time a soundtrack has single handedly ruined a film for me. Dunkirk basically features wall to wall ambient music, and Nolan never lets us feel like the action is taking place in real time. And the characters are so thinly written that I didn’t even care what was happening on screen. The movie looked phenomenal though, but overall it felt extremely accomplished in a clinical sort of way. Rant over.

What did you think of the film? Am I in the minority?
