How to get ahead without, or before, a college degree?

I am wondering if I should go back and take one philosophy university class in January to see If I could learn something for fun pass it. My room and board are free until I am 65 with a small amount to savings. Or until I get a full time job. I’m trying to eat healthier and save money for my future. My workers will help me to sign up for the class and I would like to be certain that I should take it ,before my appointment tomorrow on Tuesday August 5.
