What can I do?

I have two 8–9 week old female kittens and I just got an adult male cat that has known me and my b/f. Problem is whenever one of the kitten and the cat get close to each other one or the other or both will act strange what do I do? I know I have to give it time because the male just got here but inever seen this behavior before is it normal out of cat?
