Why are some directors still shooting in film when it's going to be digitally projected anyway?

First of all I hate digital projection and prefer film-movies over digital-movies. With digital projectors showing digital movies the screen looks dark to my eyes, there’s no film texture and so overly polished it feels thin and flattened like glossy magazine pictures.

The movie “BlacKkKlansman” was great and I enjoyed it except for it being too dark to see. But then I was surprised to find out it wasn’t shot digitally but in film. I can only blame the digital projector again.
So a movie shot in film but projected digitally looks the same.

Which brings me back to my question, why do they bother to shoot in film?

If it’s simply all about love for that physical medium and fighting against those in the industry who are almost done murdering film…that would be impressive and admirable….but is that the only reason?
