Thoughts on the Aladdin remake?

So far I think the Disney remakes have been hit and miss, I enjoyed Beauty and the Beast for the most part, and I absolutely loved The Jungle Book. But really disliked Alice in Wonderland and Malificent.

So even though I had somewhat neutral expectations for Aladdin, I was still shocked at how much I disliked it.

None of the actors had any chemistry, and the sets looked like an expensive version of a cheesy high school musical. Plus, I found Will Smith painfully unfunny as Genie, watching him make lame jokes with his head attached to a CGI body with six pack abs was creepy and unsettling.

But most of all, Guy Ritchie was a poor choice to direct a musical in my opinion.
