Has anyone else had hair loss after radiation/ hypothyroidism?

I’m almost 52 and I’m single. Never married. Right now the bouquets are not looking good for me in the future. I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and I had to get radiation to turn it into hypothyroidism. Since, I have had major hair loss and am bald. It broke my heart in pieces. One of the first thoughts I had was if I feel this way, I can’t imagine how children feel. They are so young and have to endure so much.
