Did your Christmas plans get screwed up at the last minute because of covid?

At the last minute my husband decided we should go to his parents’ house for Christmas. I anticipated the last few months, but my husband can’t think ahead about some things. Like a typical wife wondering why I do what I do sometimes, I’ve gone along with it against my better judgment.

That’s not the screw up though. Yesterday, Christmas Eve day, my SIL found out five people at her work are positive for covid so she couldn’t come for dinner. I didn’t even know she was coming, but anyway it screwed up her plans and the expectations my MIL and FIL had to see their daughter for Christmas.

As a side note, and my need to vent, the positivity rate in the county I’m in for Christmas is currently 17%! Probably, it’s going up as I write this, and probably the flu is increasing too. Where I live the covid positivity is 3.6% and 8.3% (I’m constantly in two counties where I live, I’m a mile from the line).
