Do you think that birds eventually realize that their eggs contain babies?

Maybe not the first time, but don’t you think that after a few times they would figure out the relationship? I did a Web search on this and the consensus was that birds are clueless about this.

Suppose you have a parrot and you teach it the word for parrot or maybe even baby parrot, and you point to the eggs before they hatch and say that word. Parrots are fairly smart. Wouldn’t it be able to make the connection?
