Ola, my question is a rather simple one, I suppose. I have collected Galileo Thermometers for decades and have a question regarding the liquid.

I did not sense any smell but simply it was not just water and treated it with caution. There was no oder but it had completely drained. I have looked earlier on other sites several people have said that it is simply water. Well, I have tired, tap water, well water, bottled water, boiled water, etc etc, and have not found anything that will cause the small bulbs, to go up and down like the original thermometer. I also am looking for something to use as a replacement thermometer as this one is cracked and will not hold liquid. And suggestions regarding finding and using a new container to replace this meter will be greatly appreciated. Regards, Thom
