Incredible sounding question... Did any of you have Riflery as a Phys Ed class in your high school?

I know in this day and age it sounds impossible but we’re talking the early to mid-1960s in a rural area at the time.
My school had a 6 or 8 lane rifle range in the basement. Target rifles were kept in school for anyone to use but you could bring your own gun to school if you preferred. The school rifles were too heavy for me so I brought my own from home. The teacher supplied the ammunition. Each student got a box of 50 rounds of .22 ammunition and we were permitted to take any leftovers home.
The high schools had rifle teams that competed in events and you could even earn a sports letter in Riflery.
By the way, there were no school shootings, injuries or any damage whatsoever.
