Is Halloween a big deal where you live?

Where I live the whole month of October is full of people wearing costumes at various every day activities like zumba, hula hoop, book clubs. Also, there are Halloween parties, and community Halloween events are scheduled for two nights by the developer and are at the end of the month and open to the entire public, not just people living inside The Villages. They even put together a Growloween dog walk. Lol. People bring out their dogs all dressed up.
Thrill The Villages performs at various places around town, they put out a whole schedule. We don’t have trick or treat on Halloween since no children live inside of our community boundaries, but people donate tons of candy and the developer also buys candy for the children at the two night event and there is a haunted house.
