Are there any great horror movies you would recommend for Halloween?

I’m planning on staying in on Halloween (long story) and really want to know if anybody knows of any really great horror movies? I mean any movie you would recommend. All options are welcome, I don’t mind extreme gore, but would prefer a movie that is a psychological thriller.

In other words, I’m not opposed to Saw, or Halloween, or I Know What You Did Last Summer, or any other scary chase type of film. It’s just that recently that’s pretty much all I’ve seen. I really miss seeing films that are scary but more suspenseful than purely gore driven. I just don’t see the appeal of a film that is so textbook that you know exactly who’s going to be offed, in what order, and manner.

Some films I would put in the category of films I really enjoy are Signs, Alien, Predator, Rear Window, The Birds, any other Hitchcock classics. I realize that most great horror movies are really dual-genre movies. For instance Jaws could be classified as both a suspenseful horror, and adventure. I appreciate any and all suggestions!
