What is a good brand of makeup that keeps?

I only use makeup once or twice a year at best. I have a bag of stuff from high school and maybe even middle school. What is a good brand for me to restock with that I can keep for a long, long time without needing to replace it? How long are these things good for? Ideally, I’d like to hear about something that I can keep more or less forever and still have it be good/healthy to use. I don’t mind buying the expensive-ish stuff (what I have is Clinique) as long as I won’t have to replace it often.
