What are the Fluther "customs" that older users keep referring to?

I’ve read two topics where older Fluther members complain about the newbies. They often refer to understanding Fluther “customs” that newbies apparently don’t get. Just what are these customs? Explain them to us newbies so we don’t keep offending the Fluther collective. I’ve read the Fluther guidelines, and aside from atrocious misspellings; text speak; open-ended questions (which I actually see a lot of); I don’t see any other restrictions. I thought the point of Fluther was to tap into the expertise of others. So why can’t a person ask a question they could easily Google? What if they’re asking because they want someone’s expertise and they want to avoid the dozens of pages of links in Google that lead them nowhere? Isn’t the point to be able to ask? If not, then clue us in on these unwritten customs we’re so obviously missing.
