Should I be getting a lift home?

I’m babysitting for an extended family member and his wife, and I’m usually there from 7–10:30. I get paid well (10$/hour) and the whole apartment is open to me. But, when the mom arrives home, I have to find my own way home.

The father is sometimes away because of business, and the mother goes out, so when the mom gets home, she can’t leave the kid by himself, so I understand that, but I can’t help but feel that they owe me a lift home. I get there by myself, and usually by the end of the day (school, transportation, playing with the kid, etc…), it gets really exhausting.

I realize that the mother can’t leave the kid alone, but are there any other ways that I should be getting home?
