Have you ever resorted to hypnotism for the purpose of memory recall?

I am a skeptic when it comes to hypnotism (and probably 90% of everything else too). But I am attracted by the idea of revisiting some territory befogged by time and refreshing or retrieving old recollections.
If you have ever tried this, whether or not it was successful, would you please describe your experience?
