The best way to run a small windows app or two under mac OS X?

I’m trying to run some windows programs under mac os x, but I don’t want to use parallels or vmware due to battery issues, and there is no darwine port to the newer intel macs that I know of.

Is there an easy way to run these programs that I’m overlooking?
