Best networkable + remote access storage compatible with Mac?

I am looking for a remote accessible storage device that I can set up at home and use to access my photos, music, videos, files, etc from a remote location.

I am thinking somehting along the lines of the Western Digital MyBook World Edition, except that, while that device is “technically” compatible with Macs, if you read the fine print, it says that the remote accessibility feature is not supported on Macs. So….not so much compatible, eh?
