Chris and Chris: do likes attract?

I’ve known a number of heterosexual same-named couples: Sandy and Sandy, Robin and Robin, Chris and Chris. I’ll also count Simon and Simone. And Jerry and Gerry. Is it just a matter of odds that a certain number of namesake couples are going to wind up together, or are they really attracted to each other because of their names and the fun of confounding their friends and families?
