Help me with a descision about school (see details)?

So I need help with deciding whether to pursue a degree or a certification (for the time being). I was in school at an online university to get a bachelor’s degree in business. I’m now taking a break from school to get my (supposed) biochemical depression in order. I’m on something now that seems to be helping with my mood and stuff, but it’s not a definite fix.
My goal is to become an event planner. I’ve been looking into things, and found out that I don’t need a degree to do that, just a certification. I’ve also found a school I could attend to become certified.
My question is, should I go back to pursuing my degree or just work toward a certification? The degree will take me about three more years, and the certification program is 3–6 months.
