How do I make sure my new neighbours get on with us?

We have moved into a new house on a new housing estate and slowly we are getting new neighbours, I want to make sure we don’t have any problems with them so I am trying to make sure I am polite and have started small conversations with some of them. How do I make sure I don’t come across as interfering and nosey? Do I carry on making small talk or leave it now I have made a few introductions?
