What's the best way to get moss off of asphalt shingle roof?

Asked by pallen123 (1519points) June 19th, 2009

We live in northeastern Ohio and have a dark/black asphalt shingle roof that nearing replacement age—maybe 3–4 more years. There’s a good deal of moss growing on parts of the roof. Any suggestions for getting it off/dead? Thought about bleach solution, but don’t want to discolor the shingles. Not sure I want to powerwash it—it’s on the second floor. Ideas? Thank you!
