Anybody ever used eMusic? Can you recommend it as alternative to iTunes?

I know this subject was addressed almost a year ago here, but it got a rather tepid response. If you’ve used eMusic, I’m curious not only how it works as a download interface (speed, ease of use, functionality) but also song selection and value for money. TIA.
