Can I regain my program installation files from cabinet files?

I recently had to use Recuva to restore some files from a mistakenly reformatted external hard drive. The restoration has gone rather well, so far. However, it appears that every .exe file (and possibly others) have restored as .cab files. Does anyone know of a way I can regain those .exe files from the .cab files? Also of possible importance, none of these files were restored with meaningful names….
