Do you fly first class on airplanes?

This sorta popped into my mind because today, when flying back from Los Angeles I realized that my ticket said first class. Which was a little odd, because I’m pretty damn sure I didn’t pay for first class. Still, though, it was the only time I’ve ever flown up there, and probably the only time I ever will.

I could certainly see upgrading on longer flights, but seeing so many people in first class on a 1 hour flight sort of made me wonder why. I just don’t think it’s worth it to cough up the dough for such a short flight…

So do you fly first class? And if you do, why? And maybe somebody could help me understand why I was bumped up there…
