Painted Letters on Medical Alert Bracelet?

I wear a medical alert bracelet and one of the consistent problems that I’ve had with them is that the red painted letters always wear away fairly quickly, leaving the bracelet and letters all the same uniform steel color. If you look real close and are careful you can certainly read what the bracelet says, but in an emergency I’d much rather have the certainty that an EMT can easily read my bracelet.

Does anyone know of a way to afix the ink in the engraving and assure that the paint stays on and doesn’t wear off?
