What could cause severe abdominal pain?

For two weeks now I am having severe abdominal pain, as soon as it starts it is a very sharp piercing pain on my lower abdominal and lower tailbone area… and lasts anywhere from 30min to 1hr 30min even with going to the bathroom/farting
I went to the Doctor tonight and he said it was gas pain. (for 2 weeks !!!) he said wait a week then come back
I have not changed my diet before or after this started
When I get gas pain (very rarely) it is only located halfway up my tailbone area my lower back and never in the front, also it starts out as a dull ache that turns into a sharp pain…
