How have the California wildfires affected you?

As the crows fly, WTF and I live less than two miles away. It has been very smokey in the mornings and heavy layer of ash can be seen on my new car. Two Canadian Super Scoopers are or have been parked at the Van Nuys airport all day, I just don’t understand why, when they are so terribly needed. Yes, I know it cost $300,0000.00 a day to operate and yes I know California has a major deficit. Whatever their reason, we have already lost Two firefighters many homes, thousands of people have been evatuated because of these fires. Why haven’t they brought out the big guns? The LA news keeps repeating that these planes came a day early, why aren’t they taking advantage of these? I am very upset about this! We have friends that live in the fire zone and that have been evacuated. I took a friend of mine home and although it was dark, I took some pictures. There were no firefighters near by, nor was I in anyones way. But I wanted Wtf to see how close the fire actually was. It was less than ¼ miles.
