Can BC pills make your period go away, mid-period?

Asking this for my g/f. She just got her period, and for reasons I won’t go into REALLY doesn’t want it to be right now (this week-ish). She has BC pills on their way, and they should arrive within a day or two. The question simply put is, can the BC pills make her period stop? There is NO concern for using them as actual BC in this situation. She is just curious if they will make the period go away. Experiences/experienced comments preferred, but any welcome.
