Do you want to be idolized? Well-known? Respected? Or left alone?

I was watching a Michael Jackson concert video tonight. The guy was amazing! There was a whole stadium of people screaming and singing with him the whole night long. There were women swooning right and left and being carried off by medical staff.

There was something appealing about being able to create that kind of energy and have that kind of effect on people. Yet, I’d never be willing to do the work to make that happen, even if I had the talent. I think it would be nice to be well-known, as long as I was respected.

However I realize that I’m just not really willing to do the work it takes for any of those things. It’s not like I want to be left alone, just that it happens. Maybe it’s just a vibe I give off without even knowing it. Maybe I’m just too uncomfortable feeling like I deserve anything.

Other people seem to have no problem exercising their egos and asking for love and praise. They have absolute confidence in front of a group. I guess they have what it takes.

What kind of person are you that way? Why do you think you have that preference?
