How can I put a word document from my work computer on my iPhone's desktop?

I have a Word document on my work (some Dell piece of crap) computer that I often have a need to look at. It would be great if I could have it at my fingertips on my (mac based) iPhone. Is there a way to have it represented as an Icon on the phone’s desktop (is that what it’s called)?

I’m just realizing now; I asked an iPhone question. Hangs head in shame.
