Can someone help interpret these dreams?

Last week wednesday I had a dream about an ex of mine. I dreamt that he was some sort of gym teacher (whisle, horrible gym shorts, sweatband and all). In the dream I happened to be walking down dorm road and saying some sort of bad things about him/an event/our relationship (can’t quite remember) but he came up to me and told me he wanted to talk and straighten things out (which did NOT happen in real life). He was really sensitive and nice and the dream made me feel a lot better. I know that I probably dreamt it because we never really had closure or talked about anything after the fact but, why was he a gym teacher??

Also just today I was taking a short study nap and I dreamt I was in our school gym and he was there dressed for gym class but they wouldn’t let him play because he was a boy and it was some type of all girls gym class (I wasn’t in the class, but I was dressed for the gym). We didn’t talk in this dream because it wasn’t a very long one.

Why do I keep having these dreams, and specifically about him and the gym teacher getup? I’ve got a new bf and I’m happy now but I’m really confused why my ex keeps popping up..?
