If you're wanting to get into teaching (elementary school), what volunteer work would look best on a resume?

You have your teaching certificate (B. Ed), and you’re looking for work. You can put your name on the supply list (teaching), yes, but what about volunteer work?

When I finished school, I was fortunate enough to get a teaching job right away. I did supply here and there and got my foot in the door. Now, it’s a little more difficult because teaching jobs (here in Canada) are hard to come by. I have a cousin who’s had her B. Ed for three years and still can’t land a job (she’s competing with a bunch of retirees who decided to come back and work).
