Do you still use email?

I read a post on Techcrunch where they called email ‘so 1994’ (even though most people didn’t have email back then but…) and they basically went on to say that a modern website/company must enable easy use of twitter, Facebook, apps etc for all its customers since that is what everyone uses and that this is the 21st century.
So, my question is, is email dead as means of communication? Is it it all about silly tweets and mobile apps now? Does one have to have a Facebook account no matter how silly it is for grown ups to spend their valuable time sending each other meaningless quizzes and widgets and ‘poking’ one another? Am I just old and sad because I like emails?

Do you use emails or do you prefer other modes of communication – if so which ones?
