Was I a bad mom because I pulled all kinds of rank on my-then 13 and 15 year olds and told them they HAD to watch this movie I'd rented?

Grumblings from the audience, “Probably some sort of inspiration crap or some learning science crap.” Jaws set, mouths in a hard line, eyes in rolling mode…the movie?

ROFL!! Best Evening with Teenagers Ever! To watch their their jaws relax, to the point where their mouths started hanging open, eyes getting bigger. When they got to “That’s not a horse! You’re clacking two coconuts togetha!” both the kids looked at me with an astonishment that I have never seen before, and probably will never see again! Like, “Who are you and what have you done with our mom!!”

Needless to say….well, what else is there TO say! :)

As an aside, I never was successful in getting them to watch To Kill a Mockingbird, which of course, is in a whole different league. After I’d mentioned it a few times, my son turns to me in exasperation and says, “WHY would I want to watch a movie about tequila!???
