Non traditional wedding registry?

My fiance and I have been in a long distance relationship (transcontinental) for 3 years now and plan on getting married here in the United States but want to move to his home country of Norway shortly after. We don’t want to set up a wedding registry at a store because then we will have to ship our new stuff overseas which can get very expensive. We would love to find a way for our loved ones to give us gifts for our future home overseas but can’t find a solution.
